皇后皮箱總讓我想到 Fleetwood Mac 的 Lindsey Buckingham 和 Stevie Nicks，同樣也是吉他手和主唱情侶組合的卡菈和阿怪是樂團的主要創作核心，他們和阿嘯、黑輪和傑西三位老練的樂手們演奏的是台灣音樂圈少見的六零英倫復古搖滾，卻不如表面那麼簡單。
除了 The Beatles、The Kinks 這些英國六零樂隊的影響外，他們的中文詞曲創作和卡菈人聲演繹也時常嗅得如鳳飛飛、鄧麗君等七八零台灣老歌的神髓，加上黑輪（貝斯）和傑西（鼓）這對熱愛椎名林檎和 Acid Man 等日本樂隊的節奏組合，皇后皮箱總是給我一種混種的美感，也難用類型定義他們的音樂。
樂團創作主腦阿怪除了彈的一手像是由 George Harrison 所傳授的吉他，喜歡昆丁的他，所建構的創作風景有著非常具體且統一的畫面感，灰濛濛的背景上演的劇情總是戲謔且近乎 B 級的幽默與憂鬱。一如昆丁的作品，同樣的主題或元素總在不同樣貌的歌曲裡被重複使用。
我和皇后皮箱今年已結束長達兩年的專輯製作期，2013 年二月順利發行了最新的 Killer B EP，新專輯也已經錄製完畢等待後製當中。

對於六零年代的錄音技術著迷的我，對於製作同樣熱愛六零音樂皇后皮箱有著偏執狂般的執著，像是僅使用六零年代的麥克風、前級，甚至嚴格限制自己只能使用當時的麥克風擺放方式等等，雖然 Rooftop 沒有四軌或八軌盤帶機和 Mixing Desk，但我盡量使用電腦模擬當時的盤帶和混音台的效果，是個有趣的聲音挑戰。大量使用 Ribbon 麥克風的溫暖音色是這首錄音最大特色。這曲的錄製裡完全沒有 Overdub，包括主唱也都是跟樂團同步演唱，六零年代 RE15 的音色非常舒服自然。在這曲的前奏阿怪甚至偷渡了 Chuck Berry Jonney B. Goode 的招牌 Lick，小小的致敬了一番。
