Forests 這個樂團裡擁有三個我所鍾愛的天才樂手。
2011年成立的森林合唱樂隊，前身是兩個如今已解散的樂團：Boyz & Girl 和 Sunset Rollercoaster 落日飛車， 非常幸運的這三個樂團的唱片都是在 Rooftop 錄製。我和他們相識的契機在 2009 年，斑斑率領的 Shoegazing 樂隊 Boyz & Girl 在尋覓可以錄製專輯的地方而連絡上我，當時的 Rooftop 還只能說是個堆滿雜物的倉庫。華裔美籍吉他手 Jonathan Du 從家鄉找來了好友 Willie Chen 和我一起在 Rooftop 克難的錄製了 Boyz & GIrl 的首張專輯。我也因此跟鼓手羅尊龍結識，進而邀請他加入 Green!Eyes 貢獻鼓藝。吉他手 Jon 除了是曾就讀 Berklee 的吉他高手外，在鋼琴家母親的克紹箕裘下也是優秀的小提琴手和鋼琴手，初到台灣時更短暫的加入風籟坊演奏吉他。貝斯手曾國宏出身於教會 Gospel 樂隊，從小浸淫於黑人 groove 音樂，除了是一個非常優異的貝斯手，更是一個深受七零吉他英雄影響的天才吉他手。鼓手羅尊龍則年紀輕輕已周遊列團，特殊的 grooving 和渲染力，很快的成為台北獨立音樂圈最炙手可熱的鼓手之一，他也身兼創作人，曾有 Cant 和阿郎等 Side-project。此三傑也與來吧焙焙共同製作專輯與現場演出。
國宏、尊龍與一華裔友人 Kevin Lee 另組有 Sunset Rollercoaster，初期演繹的是 Minimal 的電腦音樂，怎料 2010 年突然轉型成為把玩七零年代復古搖滾的吉他勁旅，在 Rooftop 製作了一張至今我仍覺得十分動聽的專輯 Bossa Nova。
Forests 成立初期其實是 Boyz 和落日飛車的混合體，由 Jon、Kevin、國宏和尊龍四人組成一個師法 Beach Boys 的重唱組合，在 2011 年 Kevin 因故退出，形成現在三人的組合，音樂類型也演變成受到 San Francisco Garage-punk scene 如 Thee Oh Sees/ Ty Segall 等團影響的三重唱車庫搖滾。我們在2012年僅花了兩天用 Jon 的四軌錄音機和非常簡約的麥克風設定錄製了森林的首張專輯 The Moon is Man。最近 Forests 重拾初衷，打算夥同友人一同翻玩 Beach Boys 的作品，令人期待。

森林是第一個回到 Rooftop 參與合輯製作的樂團，演奏的曲子是帶有 Surf 風味的 Woo Woo Woo。錄製尊龍的鼓我總是用非常 Minimal 的麥克風設定，通常是四件式的 Glyn Johns setup 在加上在錄音間角落的幾對 Room Mics，所有的樂手圍繞在同一個房間裡，將音箱開的非常大聲的演奏著，麥克風之間大量的串音也造成了歌曲特殊的質感。在錄音的同時我們甚至嘗試讓樂手們戴上黏有攝影機的安全帽，拍下實況，現場非常逗趣。
